Proper Lifting Procedures
The spine, as we all know, has important curves to it. Thus in lifting,
it is very important to maintain these curves in the spine.
During lifting, it is important to bend from the knees, not from
the waist. If we bend from the waist, we lose the curve in the lumbar
spine, the lower back, and cause more stress on the spine.
When bending from the knees make sure we maintain the curve in
the lower back and when getting up from the knees as well. Getting
up is as important as going down when lifting.
Also make sure your neck is looking ahead and we are not straining
our neck in performing the lifting procedure. |
